Energy Outreach Colorado announces leadership change

After 14 years with Energy Outreach Colorado and more than 40 years in the energy industry, Skip Arnold will retire effective January 5, 2018. Arnold’s extensive knowledge and experience with the energy industry, coupled with his passion for helping low-income Coloradans afford home energy, have fueled positive changes throughout Colorado for more than four decades. Energy Outreach Colorado’s Board of Directors could not be more pleased with, or grateful to, Arnold for his leadership among staff, industry organizations, and policymakers alike.

“Skip has been at the forefront of protecting the interests of Colorado’s most vulnerable households by advancing affordable and equitable energy policies,” said Cec Ortiz, president of Energy Outreach Colorado’s board of directors. “Through his nationally-recognized leadership, Energy Outreach has grown into one of the most successful organizations of its kind in the country.”

Arnold will maintain his role of Executive Director until January 5, 2018. Deputy Director Jennifer Gremmert has been named as Skip’s successor.

“Jennifer is equally as committed to ensuring that low-income Coloradans have access to affordable home energy, and her extensive abilities and experience will allow Energy Outreach to continue and build on its successful programs and advocacy work,” said Ortiz.

As Deputy Director, Gremmert has worked closely with Arnold and the Board of Directors the past several years preparing for the role and allowing for the smoothest transition possible. Gremmert has been with the organization for more than half of its existence and been instrumental in establishing successful programs to provide energy bill payment assistance, energy efficiency improvements to lower costs, and education about energy saving behaviors. She will be only the third Executive Director in the organization’s nearly 30-year history.
