We use “cookies” and other technologies to enhance your online experience. A “cookie” can be either permanent (i.e., it remains on your computer until you delete it) or temporary (i.e., it lasts only until you close your browser).  A “cookie” is a small text file that helps us recognize repeat visitors, facilitate the visitor’s ongoing access to and use of the web site, and track usage behavior and compile aggregate data that can lead to website improvements.  Cookies may also help us customize certain content on the website.  Cookies and other similar technologies collect non – personal information about the user of a particular IP address or computer.  If you do not want your information collected through the use of cookies, you can turn off the cookie feature using a simple procedure available in most browsers.  If you block cookies, however, you may lose some website functionality.

Our website uses Google Analytics, which is a statistical reporting tool that allows us to determine the number of unique and returning visitors, how they were referred to our website, the length of time they spend on our website, the number of pages they visit, and other similar information. Google Analytics does not track individual visitors or retain any personally identifiable information of internet users.

Donor Information – Online and Offline
Generally, we request and use personal information to carry out the transactions that you request, such as making a donation and participating in events. We also use information, such as cookies and IP information, to understand your needs and provide you with a better online experience.

Energy Outreach Colorado does not sell, rent or exchange your personally identifying information to third parties.

Information we share:

Third Party Donor Data Management

In order to best serve you, we work with a trusted third party company and use their software to track, manage and update your personally identifying information, communication and donation history, mailing and communication preferences, and credit card and bank information for processing donations. This company keeps a secure copy of our database to help us best respond to your requests, manage the processing of your donation and continue to improve your experience with the Mission.

Third Party Payment Processing

We use a third party payment processor to process financial donations. When you make donations to Energy Outreach Colorado, we may transfer certain information (including personally identifying information) to these payment processors for the sole purpose of facilitating the financial transaction, such as your name, address, and credit card and/or bank information.

Marketing and Mailings

We also may share your personally identifying information including name, address, phone number, email, or donation history with trusted third party companies for the sole purpose of creating mailings and marketing material such as receipts, reminder letters and other special updates from Energy Outreach Colorado.

If you sign up for one of our email lists, we will only send you the information you have requested.

Legally Mandated Disclosures

Though we make every effort to preserve donor and customer privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when we have a good-faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process served on our organization.

Donor Database Co-ops

In order to invite new donors to help support the work of Energy Outreach Colorado and to better understand and cater content to our current supporters, we participate in various non-profit co-ops which share information about the donation habits of supporters of various non-profit organizations.

If you do not already appear in the co-op databases, we will not share or add your personally identifying information to the co-op databases. However, if your personally identifying information already appears in the co-op databases, basic information about your giving habits with Energy Outreach Colorado, including frequency and donation amount, will be shared.

We never share your personally identifying information or credit card information with these donor database co-ops, and we never share any information about anyone who does not already appear in the database.

Other companies or non-profits with whom you have a relationship may contribute to the database resulting in your information being added. However, if your personally identifying information such as address, phone number or email is available in the database, it was not added by Energy Outreach Colorado.

Security Online
If you choose to donate online through our website, that transaction will occur through the use of Secure Sockets Layer/Transport Layer Security (SSL/TLS) encryption.  SSL/TLS is a generally accepted protocol that encrypts all communication between your web browser and the site you are visiting to prevent third parties from eavesdropping or tampering with your donation and payment information. Common browsers, such as Internet Explorer, make it obvious when information is being passed in a secure manner by using the prefix https:// in the URL or displaying a padlock somewhere in the browser window.

Energy Outreach Colorado uses GeoTrust, Inc., a third party SSL/TLS Certificate provider. The level of encryption is determined by your web browser, your computer’s operating system, and the SSL/TLS Certificate itself.

Energy Outreach Colorado uses Blackbaud, https://www.blackbaud.com/BBMS/, to process payment information for online donations. You may learn more about its security practices by visiting its website.

Energy Outreach Colorado does not store credit card numbers or social security numbers on any servers under its control.

Your Choice to Opt Out
We provide you with the opportunity to “opt out” of having your personal information used for certain purposes when we ask for this information.  If you no longer wish to receive Energy Outreach Colorado communications, you may opt out of receiving such communications by calling 303.825.8750.
