An enthusiastic EOC shout out to Colorado Housing and Finance Authority (CHFA) for raising $2,500 for our affordable energy programs through their month-long Facebook campaign. CHFA invited readers to view its energy efficiency posts and donated $1 for every “like” and $5 for every “share” of the posts, along with $10 for each “like” to its Facebook page.
The “Like It Forward” campaign will provide relief to Colorado families and seniors who can’t afford to pay their home energy bills. More than 118,000 Colorado households with annual incomes at or below 50 percent of the Federal Poverty Level pay 21 percent of their income for home energy costs, compared to the 6 percent that is considered affordable.
”Coloradans are fortunate to benefit from the work CHFA does to support stable, affordable housing in our communities and we greatly appreciate its support of home energy needs for low-income Coloradans,” said Skip Arnold, EOC executive director.
