Few people die in Colorado each year from heat-related causes, but heat remains a top concern for medical and public health experts. One major reason: Heat can be particularly dangerous for people who have underlying health conditions, such as cardiovascular disease, and can push them into a medical crisis. And as climate change warms the environment, heat is only posing more of a threat to people’s health.
