Finding Help for Energy Efficiency Upgrades
There are two programs to help if improving the energy efficiency of your home will lower your utility bills.
Colorado’s Affordable Residential Energy Program (CARE)
Colorado’s Affordable Residential Energy (CARE) program provides income-qualified Coloradans in most counties with energy efficient upgrades, whether they own their own home or rent at no cost. EOC conducts an energy audit, and then will work with contractors on installing upgrades, including insulation and air sealing, energy efficient lighting.
Your home’s energy efficiency is a crucial component to your overall energy costs and comfort. The CARE Program provides free energy efficiency upgrades to help.
Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP)
The Weatherization Assistance Program (WAP) provides free energy efficiency services for income qualified Coloradans. Approved applicants will receive an energy audit that will identify potential upgrades that will then be installed by certified technicians at no cost to the homeowner. Improvements can range from new insulation and air sealing to furnace repair and replacement, all with the goal of increasing a home’s efficiency and lowering energy bills.
