EOC Urging Continued State Funding
Energy Outreach Colorado is at the State Capitol promoting two main
messages during the 2008 legislative session:
1) Colorado’s natural gas prices are rising at a far faster rate than
the rest of the country because of the January 2008 opening of the
Rockies Express pipeline that is transporting Rocky Mountain natural gas
out of the region as far as Pennsylvania;
2) Senate Bill 1200, which provides for an additional $7 million in
low-income energy assistance funding from state severance tax funds each
year, will expire after the 2008-09 winter unless the State Legislature
takes action.

support continuing this critically-needed energy assistance funding. For
