EOC Urging Continued State Funding

Energy Outreach Colorado is at the State Capitol promoting two main messages during the 2008 legislative session:

1) Colorado’s natural gas prices are rising at a far faster rate than the rest of the country because of the January 2008 opening of the Rockies Express pipeline that is transporting Rocky Mountain natural gas out of the region as far as Pennsylvania;

2) Senate Bill 1200, which provides for an additional $7 million in low-income energy assistance funding from state severance tax funds each year, will expire after the 2008-09 winter unless the State Legislature takes action.

We encourage you to contact your state representatives and ask them to support continuing this critically-needed energy assistance funding. For more information click here.
