Since 1989, Energy Outreach Colorado has been dedicated to helping
Colorado’s neediest families meet their home energy needs. We are the
only non-profit organization in the state that raises money through
donations and foundation grants to help families in need pay energy
bills and avoid shut offs. We also lead the state in pursuing affordable
energy policies and advocating for energy efficiency measures in
affordable housing.
In response to dwindling federal funding for energy assistance,
Colorado’s governor created the Colorado Commission on Low-Income Energy
Assistance in 1989. This led to the creation of our organization to
raise funds for the increasing home energy needs of low-income
Coloradoans. Since that time, we’ve developed programs and services for
year-round bill payment assistance, energy efficiency education and
weatherization.
Mission: The mission of Energy Outreach Colorado is to ensure that
Colorado’s low-income families can meet their home energy needs.
Vision: Energy Outreach Colorado strives to be Colorado’s leading organization dedicated to
efficient delivery of cost-effective energy assistance, energy
conservation and energy education for
low-income households to maintain their well being and self-sufficiency.
