Glenwood Springs, Colo. – Holy Cross Energy is helping limited
income families, seniors and people with special health needs with their
energy bills this winter by contributing $50,000 to Energy Outreach
Colorado.
Energy Outreach will distribute the energy assistance funding to
families served by Holy Cross in Eagle, Garfield, Gunnison, Mesa and
Pitkin counties.
Holy Cross’ contribution is part of the Low-Income Energy Assistance
Program established by Senate Bill 05-001, which went into effect a year
ago. The legislation created a system for all energy utility companies
operating in Colorado to help raise funds for energy assistance.
“Our contribution to Energy Outreach Colorado is a meaningful
opportunity for us to give back to the communities in which we serve,”
said Del Worley, chief executive officer of Holy Cross Energy. “We’re
proud to support Energy Outreach’s mission of helping all Coloradans be
able to afford home energy.”
Since it was founded in 1989, Energy Outreach Colorado has distributed
more than $73 million in energy assistance across the state.
“We’re so appreciative of Holy Cross Energy’s help in providing energy
assistance for a growing number of Colorado seniors and families who
can’t afford to pay their home energy bills,” said Skip Arnold,
executive director of Energy Outreach Colorado. “The folks at Holy Cross
are very dedicated to providing a helping hand to people in need.”
