Anadarko Contributes $10,000 for Weld County Energy Assistance

March 12, 2007

DENVER – Energy Outreach Colorado, a non-profit organization that helps pay a portion of the energy bills for low-income families and seniors, can provide additional assistance in Weld County thanks to a $10,000 contribution from Anadarko Petroleum Corporation. The contribution will go toward low-income energy assistance and energy efficiency programs in Weld County.

“It’s important to us to take an active role in supporting the communities where our employees live and work,” said David Howell, Anadarko General Manager, Wattenberg field. “Anadarko has significant natural gas operations in the Wattenberg field in Weld County. We have a lot of respect for Energy Outreach Colorado, and we are proud to support its mission to make home energy affordable for all Coloradans.”

Since its inception in 1989, Energy Outreach has distributed more than $73 million to fund energy bill payment assistance, weatherization programs for affordable housing and conservation education. In Weld County, Energy Outreach distributes energy assistance funds through its partner agencies -- Catholic Charities and the Faith Service Community Fund. In 2005-06, more than $106,000 in energy assistance was provided to 366 Weld County households.

“We greatly appreciate the efforts and generosity of Anadarko to help needy Coloradans at this critical time when federal funding for energy assistance is considerably less than last year,” said Skip Arnold, executive director of Energy Outreach Colorado. “Like other members of the Colorado oil and gas industry, Anadarko is very aware of the impact of volatile energy costs on struggling families and they are doing their part to help.”
