DENVER – Energy Outreach Colorado, the only independent
non-profit organization in the state that raises money for energy
assistance and energy efficiency programs, is adding four new members to
its board of directors.
“Last year we distributed more money and helped more people in need than
ever before,” said Skip Arnold, executive director of Energy Outreach
Colorado. “The leadership and experience of these additional board
members will help us continue to grow our programs and increase energy
assistance funding so we can help even more seniors, disabled and
families with children afford the heat they need during the coldest
months.”
The four new members to Energy Outreach Colorado’s board of directors
are:
Howard Boigon, partner, Hogan & Hartson law firm’s Denver office. Boigon
has several decades of experience in energy and natural resources law
and policy. He also is co-chair of the natural resources and energy
committee of the transition team for Colorado Governor-elect Bill
Ritter, as well as a current member of the board of directors of the
Colorado Oil and Gas Association.
Patricia Nelson Limerick, board chair, Center of the American West at
the University of Colorado at Boulder, created to identify and address a
variety of critical regional issues, including land, water, and energy
use. Limerick teaches a variety of courses on the American West and has
written numerous books and columns that have impacted the field of
western American history.
Jack Swift, managing director, JanusINTECH Institutional Asset
Management, a global financial solutions provider. He also chairs the
development committee for Creative Adoptions in Littleton.
Troy Whitmore, director of external affairs, United Power , Brighton, a
Colorado-based electric distribution cooperative. Whitmore oversees
communications, marketing, energy management, governmental affairs and
community relations for the co-op. He also serves on the board of
Colorado Advocates for Rural Electrification.
Energy Outreach Colorado now has 15 board members. Three of these
leaders fill newly created board positions, while the fourth replaces
retiring board member Kent Benham, general manager of Holy Cross
Electric Association, who served on Energy Outreach’s board for 12
