Apply History of NEEP

Non-profit organizations serving limited income individuals and families – which typically operate on shoe-string budgets – can significantly reduce energy costs for their facilities by participating in Energy Outreach Colorado’s Nonprofit Energy Efficiency Program (NEEP).

EOC helps qualifying organizations reduce energy consumption by funding improvements to their facility (efficiency) and educating them about new behaviors (conservation). The money they save on energy costs can go toward helping clients – many of whom also receive assistance from Energy Outreach Colorado.

Through NEEP, qualifying and committed non-profit facilities receive free energy audits and efficiency improvements (as appropriate based upon available funding). EOC and its NEEP partners will fund the most cost-effective measures, with typical investments ranging from $20,000 to $120,000.

This is money that a nonprofit doesn’t have to divert from their vital community programs, PLUS each nonprofit continues to save money every year after the investments are made! The average amount saved annually is 20% of the current bill.

In lieu of matching funds, each nonprofit must address no-cost conservation opportunities identified through the program.

This program is an excellent way for nonprofits to demonstrate to their external stakeholders that they are committed to responsibly managing their resources and that they have taken concrete steps to stretch their program dollars further.
